Five Favorites from January

Saturday, February 3, 2018

Happy February! I know that everyone has said how much January dragged on and on but honestly, I can't believe it's already February! So far I've been trying to make the most of my 2018 and get things done that I kept putting off throughout the later half of 2017. I've finally gotten around to finishing up some projects around my house and getting some important tests and classes scheduled.

I've attempted posts about my monthly favorites before but I always gave up because I never felt like I had enough items to make the post feel worthwhile. I've decided that I want to give monthly favorites posts another try but I'm limiting myself to my top 5 favorite things from the month!

Here are the top 5 things that I loved the most during the month of January!

American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace

Oh my goodness! I was really looking forward to this show since it was announced because I'm a huge fan of Darren Criss. I knew that it was going to be a good show but I really didn't expect it to be as good as it actually is, if that makes sense! All of the actors are perfectly cast and are really portraying their characters well. Darren Criss' portrayal of Andrew Cunanan is actually frightening during some of the scenes. He better win some awards for this role because he is phenominal!

Tieks Flats in Chestnut Brown

I have 2 pairs of Tieks ballet flats that I have had since the fall of 2016. I took my Chestnut Brown pair on a trip to LA over the summer and I was convinced that I had accidentally left them in my hotel room. Randomly, I found them in the outer zipper pocket of my suitcase in early January and I've been wearing them non-stop since then! They are honestly the most comfortable ballet flats that I've ever owned and I was nearly devastated when I thought they had been lost!

Toast in Temecula, CA

One of my favorite things to do is try new coffee shops and restaurants, especially when I can tell that the decor is really aesthetically pleasing. Toast is a new brunch spot in Temecula, CA that I visited for the first time in January. I was really happy with the environment, food, and friendliness of the staff. I'll definitely be back soon and if you find yourself nearby, you should check it out too!

Mid 2000's Pop Punk

I had been growing pretty bored of my usual Apple Music playlists so I put together a playlist of all my old favorite pop punk songs from the mid 2000's when I was in high school. I pretty must listened to the playlist non-stop throughout January. It has almost 4 hours of songs that I love and haven't heard in a long time so throwing it on shuffle ensured I was always listening to something different. If you want to check it out, you can click here for the playlist!

The Sims 4

I guess January was the month of rediscovering old favorites for me and another one is The Sims! I have loved playing The Sims since the very first one came out many years ago and I've had each new game since then. I tried to spend more of my free time doing things other than mindlessly scrolling through social media and The Sims was a fun way of relaxing my mind without just being on my phone!

What were you loving in the month of January?

  1. I love 2000s music! It's the best! Some things I loved during the month of January were the blonde espresso at Starbucks and watching the Great British Baking Show!
